A public meeting to develop a plan for Fishing Dependent Communities in Counties Cork & Kerry will be held on 26th June at the BIM Fisheries Centre, Castletownbere at 8pm. All those connected with or interested in fisheries/Seafood, the marine economy, and Marine tourism are encouraged to attend. The South West Fishery Local Action Group have commissioned a strategy for the coast of counties Cork and Kerry which will identify priorities for spend in the area under the European Fisheries Fund Axis IV Programme. The strategy will be like a LEADER strategy, except with a very specific focus on fishing communities and activities that celebrate and build linkages to the sea and marine resources. We would encourage those communities living within 10kilometres of the coast, who have a connection with coastal and fishing livelihood to come along and express their views and ideas.Contact Kate Burns 0871148078 or kateburnsconsulting@gmail.com
