Tom Crean Antarctic Explorer

The award winning play Tom Crean Antarctic Explorer, written and performed by Aidan Dooley will be staged on Bere Island on Friday March 31st and Saturday April 1st at the Lecture Theatre, Rerrin. The performance will start at 8pm on each evening with doors open from 7.30pm.

Tom Crean, the intrepid Antarctic Explorer and one of Ireland’s unsung heroes is brought to life in this dramatic and humourous solo performance by Aidan Dooley. Hear the riveting true stories of Crean’s Antarctic explorations as one of the few men to serve with both Scott and Shakelton.

Following his Antarctic expeditions, Tom Crean later went onto serve on Bere Island with the Royal Navy from 1916 – 1918.

Tickets are priced €15, concessions €10 and a family ticket for two adults and two children is €40. A ferry will leave the Pontoon at 7pm on both evenings and return after the performance.
