National Heritage Week 2025

Bere Island Projects Group are delighted to host a full programme for National Heritage Week 2025 which includes Ciorcal Comhrá ar Oileán Bhéara on Wednesday August 20th, an opportunity to come along to an informal Irish conversation get together at the Bere Island Community Centre over tea and cake. This event is open to  all levels of fluency in the Irish language who wish to use their cúpla focal.    On Thursday August 21st we’ll be launching The Ed White Film Collection – a unique film of life on Bere Island in the 1960s. Join us on Friday August 22nd for Foraging from Land to Sea with herbalist Jen Doran and seaweed forager Samuel Arnold Keane. Saturday August 23rd is designated as Heritage Week’s Wild Child Day, we have a guided tour of Lonehort Battery with Barry Hanley for children and their parents and guardians.
